Tai Chi and Chinese Yoga Class (Chi Kung)

Tai Chi and Chinese Yoga or Chi Kung classes are characterised by slow, moving or standing exercises, co-ordinated with conscious breathing. In practice, this calms the mind and improves mind-body connection. When the natural life force is with you then everything feels better.

Energy flow is as fundamental to the Eastern concept of what we need for healthy living as is blood circulation is in Western medicine. Much as restricted blood flow can cause major health issues – blocked energy is regarded as lying at the root of most mental or physical health problems.

Regular practise of Chinese Yoga and Tai Chi Chuan can benefit people of all ages and abilities - from elite athletes to those with restricted mobility you work at your own pace and to a level of difficulty that suits you.

For thousands of years the Chinese have been practising their version of Yoga, K’ai Men (meaning - open door) which can have a positive impact on body, mind and spirit if practised on a regular basis. Today, Chinese Yoga is as relevant as it has always been providing a wide range of physical and mental health benefits that can help improve your overall wellbeing.

My Approach to Chinese Yoga and Tai Chi

I have studied Lee Family, (a yin/yang system), Chinese Yoga and Tai Chi since 1989 and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to any class. In addition to this, I spent over 20 years attending regular classes on Kung Fu and many day courses covering specific skills such as Chi Shu (Chinese throwing martial art), Anmo and Tui Na (Chinese massage).

A great communicator, I am able to make the class informative and also fun. I can also draw on knowledge and experience from other walks of life, including: Chinese Yoga, Tai Chi, Personal Training, Sports Massage, Reflexology, Bowen Technique and life itself.

I strongly believe in applying knowledge and practise from the best of traditional eastern training alongside the benefits of modern physical exercise that focuses on improving the body in a physical and scientific sense.
